Welcome to the Swift & Firefly page!
Miss Bowden, Mrs Ellis & Miss Ransome are so excited to make this year one to remember!!! We love learning through playing and exploring, getting creative, solving problems by working as a team and getting stuck in to the outdoors!
Please keep an eye out for this page to be updated with photos and activities that we have been enjoying. We will have a different 'topic' each term, which we focus learning activities around. This term, we will be focusing on growing! Some of our key texts will be Jack and the Beanstalk and The Enormous Turnip; we will move on to Oliver’s Vegetables and The Tiny Seed as we move towards the end of term.
I know that your child starting reception may be a scary aspect, but we want you and your child to feel safe, secure and very welcome in this new environment. So please ask us any question (no matter how small you think the question may be) and we will try and give you as much information as possible.
How you can help at home...
- Read, read read! Reading for enjoyment is something we always encourage. Read labels, signs, magazines..anything! If you share a bedtime story that your child loved or read their school reading book please do write in their reading diary. We love to see what they have been enjoying.
- Labels! Make sure that everything your child brings into school is clearly labelled with their name please.
- We have PE on a Wednesday, so please make sure your child comes to school in their PE kit.
- When you take your water bottle to wash at the weekend, please do not put them in reading folders, as it may leak and all paper will be ruined!
Please also be reassured that if we have any worries or concerns regarding your child, we will contact you straight away!
We are always happy to answer any questions - catch us at the door, give school a call or send us a message via Class Dojo!
See you soon!!!
