Every school has to be assessed for a Food Hygiene Rating to give a clear indication of their standards within the kitchen. Ironically, our visit took place during National School Meals Week!
The rating takes into account the following factors as outlined by the Food Standards Agency:
- handling of food
- how food is stored
- how food is prepared
- cleanliness of facilities
- how food safety is managed
We are delighted to announce that Poplar Farm received a perfect score of 5 out of 5 thanks to the brilliant work of Giancarlo and the Midday Supervisors.
Erica McGinley, Head of School, commented: "I am so excited and proud of our fantastic team. I am delighted to have our first achievement sticker on the front door. The children enjoy amazing healthy meals every day and that is thanks to Giancarlo's creativity."
